Garden Update 8/16 – 8/22

This week I don’t have much of an update.  With my son’s birthday party Saturday and trying to clean everything up (who knew 35 people and a dog could make such a mess!) so I haven’t had much time to get out in the garden.  However this weekend I have big plans… lots of fall planting and weeding… the yard and not the garden… (our gardener feels that edging and weeding are not part of his job!)  We just bought a new freezer so I’ll be busy freezing a lot of our harvest this weekend!

So for the moment I thought I would share with you my updated seed list.

So what are your garden plans for the fall season?

How – that’s some garden Vanessa – based on your seed list it appears to be big enough to be a full-time job!

Looks like your fall garden is going to be full! We are just starting to plan. It will be our first time planting in the fall. Good luck with yours!

We had such a drought here in NY, my garden really suffered. I did get quite a bumper crop of concord grapes though, so that was a nice surprise. I plan to harvest what’s left of my tomatoes and herbs.
I’m going to plant a ton of bulbs this fall. We can only do stuff that the deer won’t eat, so we’re going for daffodils, iris, crocuses, and allium.

  6. Looking forward to seeing what you’re planting. My first sowings of spinach and winter lettuce mix didn’t come up, so I’m off to try again…

Thanks for sharing at the Tuesday Garden party!

  7. Wow. That is a big one vanessa! I think that would be a whopper! My garden was also “devastated” by the extreme weather and also by some “super-happy-about-the-garden” guests who picked some tomatoes and strawberries straight from the plant! LOL. now I need to fix everything.

  8. I just haven’t started thinking about fall – summer has been so busy. But I wnat to plant more lettuce so I’ll have some greens this winter and more canning I suppose.

    Hope the party was fun!!

  9. I don’t have a plan for fall yet. I should think first what plants are suitable to plant in fall season. In that step I could think for the next, next and next.
