 Candy Bar Cookies

Recipe: Candy Bar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 5 full sized candy bars, chopped in to small pieces
  • 1 cup oats (quick or old fashioned)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the eggs and vanilla and beat an addition 2 minutes until creamy.
  3. In a separate bowl mix flour, powder, soda, and salt.
  4. Slowly add in to the mixture adding a small amount at a time until fully incorporated.
  5. By hand stir in the candy bars and the oats. Do not over mix.
  6. Roll the dough in to small balls and place on a cookie sheet at least an inch apart.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 11-13 minutes until lightly golden brown.

Quick Notes

This recipe makes 3-6 dozen depending on the size. I Usually make about a dozen or so and then roll the rest in to balls, place in a ziplock and freeze. I bake up small batches throughout the week.

Variations

You can use which ever candy bars you like. The first time I made this I used 5 different bars it was good but didn’t have any one distinct flavor so I prefer to use 2 different kinds instead.

Meal Type: dessert
