Garden Update (kinda!) – 9/27 – 10/3

I really haven’t had much to report in the garden.  Finally ripped out all but one tomato plant, this year wasn’t a very good one for my tomatoes.  I left the tomatoes buckets outside for all of 5 minutes only to find the dogs dumped the dirt all over the patio and then proceeded to destroy the buckets.  I  the dogs pulled out the sunflowers I was still waiting to see if they would produce some seeds, oh well!

I finally planted some carrots, red & green cabbage, cauliflower,   and broccoli raab.  I still need to plant some radishes, onions, greens (mustard, swiss chard, collards, and kale) and lettuce.

The watermelon is happily growing… very slowly I might add!

We are in the process of rearranging the garage and finding space for all my gardening tools, that should help motivate me to get my butt out there and plant some more stuff!

The two dog idea hasn’t helped at all.  The puppy is worse than Zombie ever was… only she is so darn cute that you can’t help but smile even though you really want to kick her little butt!  Which is so depressing cause we are still looking for a new home for her… as much as I don’t want to.

Hunnie really wanted a Doberman (even though he hates dogs!)  I found a rescue out in LA that has several dogs around a year old.  We really wanted a puppy but they are way too expensive from breeders and the shelters seem to rarely have pure breed pups.  That actually might not be a bad thing since Zombie is almost 10 months they would be a little closer to the same energy level.

In the meantime I started feeding both pups raw.  Yum!!

I didn’t want to start the puppy on it since I knew we weren’t keeping her and I know most people won’t feed raw.  But I she would look so sad when she would see how much Zombie loved it.  I mean how could I resist that face?

On a completely different note we went to Knott’s Scary farm over the weekend… any of you who know me by now know about my strange obsession with clowns!  Notice the look of pure and utter excitement!  I’m am very very disturbed!

and last but not least…

I this we are made for each other! !

Its good to see you’re feeding your dogs on a raw diet, I recently started feeding my cats on a raw diet and ever since then their coats have been really shiny!

I started the dogs, about two weeks ago. I haven’t given them baths in a little while since the yard is really wet but I noticed yesterday their coats where so shiny. I cant wait to see what they look like after a bath!

I was planning on starting my cat on raw next week, but her diet is a little more difficult since she is 14yrs old!

I would have been so mad at my dog if they ripped up my plants. Things happened though. Usually the destructiveness was unintentional. They would run through the raised beds chasing the chipmunks. Woe to the plants that got in their way.

Don’t have any dogs but I hope, if you have to find a home for the puppy, he gets a good one. I thought that was funny about Knott’s Scary Farms. Lovely pictures.
